eTec Reflux valves are a tilting disc butterfly type design ideally suitable for pump discharge applications. Designed to open freely against low pump flow and close automatically on flow reversal, metal to metal seated free from stick slip for use in raw and sea water application.
Reflux valves are supplied to Thermal Power Stations for installation into cooling water systems and Water Control Schemes for fail safe non return duty.
The compact dimensions enable installation into confined spaces. The valve offers low pressure loss and freedom from jamming and disc flutter. An inclined conical seat ensures that sealing is achieved at the final valve closure remaining closed with assistance of an external small counter weight opened by pump pressure.
Fabricated, cast or combination of cast and fabricated designs are available with internal parts manufactured to suit the operating condition and wetted corrosive areas protected with coating such as epoxy paint or glass flake coating. The valve shafts and seat ring are stainless steel and disc trim a non ferrous metal.
Modern bearing materials and gland seals are used to provide arduous operating conditions where required.
An external hydraulic damping arrangement incorporate a variable speed controlled damping device for final valve closure to prevent valve slam closure and consequent pressure surge. Final closure time can be adjusted externally.
The butterfly type Reflux valve is a replacement for free acting multi door swing check valve which act without a damping device and are prone to slam closure.
